Google Photos contains a new memory management tool

This storage management tool displays photos or videos that users may want to delete, such as blurry photos, screenshots, and large videos, so you can make the most of your storage space (with the option to manually deselect any content you want to keep).

Finally, to make the new content archiving policy more understandable to all users, the level of “High Quality” will be renamed to “Archive Savings”.

  • Google Pixel owners (2016 model) will be able to continue saving photos and videos in original quality without time or space limit
  • With Google Pixel 2, photos and videos are available in original quality without space limits (if uploaded by January 16, 2021) while content can be uploaded in high quality (or storage space saving) without restrictions.
  • With Google Pixel 3, photos and videos are available in original quality without space limits (if uploaded by January 1, 2022) while contents can then be saved in high quality (or storage space saving) without limits.
  • Google Pixel 3a, Pixel 4, Pixel 4a, and Pixel 5 owners will be able to save photos and videos in high quality (or save storage space) without limits.
