Friends of Padua Music, Trio Atos “Three Voices, But One Voice” at Polini on February 21, 2022 Padua events

The performance was entrusted to the Atos trio, which has been defined as “Three Voices, but One Voice” (Detroit Free Press) for the perfect unity of phrasing, sound, feeling and interpretation.


The Atos trio was formed in Germany in 2003, and within a few years it won many awards, such as the first prize in Schubert competition Graz in 2006 et al Melbourne Competition In 2007. For 2010 and 2011, the Atos trio was included in BBC Radio 3’s exclusive ‘New Generation Artists’ programme, which includes BBC studio shows and numerous concerts in the context of major English festivals. Numerous tours in Europe, South America and the United States, as well as participation in famous festivals, have led the Atos trio to perform in the finest halls, from Carnegie Hall in New York, to the Colon Theater in Buenos Aires or Wigmore Hall. In London, they perform the most important works for treble chord and piano.


As Thomas Hoepe, pianist for the Athos trio, stated, “Being able to perform the complete trios of Mendelssohn, Schumann and Brahms, composers who have connected so many strands of musical and human life, is both a challenge and a joy.” In the programme, the rare first edition (1854) of Trio op.8 by Johannes Brahms, Phantasiestücke reference 88 by Robert Schumann and the Trio reference. 66 by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdi.


With this concert and subsequent parties, the listener will be able to realize the evolution of the genre of the trio in the Romantic era, moving away from the pure entertainment genre to gain depth, emotional tension and expressive ability.
