Firaxis introduced the first sequences of Play officers Midnight from Marvel, the new strategic title from the creators of XCOM and Civilization with Marvel superheroes, such as Blade, Iron Man and Wolverine.
In the player above you will find the first official video of the gameplay, which gives an overview of the title. Below you will find a second video, an extended and comprehensive version of the first, where some of the game’s mechanics and highlights of production are explained.
As we can see from the videos, Marvel’s Midnight Suns combat system features a turn-based system with a heavy focus on strategy. there will be card system, basically consumable items that we can use to activate different skills of Marvel heroes. In addition, the battlefield will be very important, which players can use to their advantage, such as dropping enemies from the roof of a building.
The video also confirms that in Marvel’s Midnight Suns it will be possible to deepen the bonds between the protagonist and other Marvel characters, through multiple choice dialogues and special events. As we know there will be no love relationships, but we will be able to form stronger bonds and get new cards, and thus access to a greater number of skills.
Marvel’s Midnight Suns is a turn-based strategy that will put us in the shoes of a new hero, “the hunter”, which we will be able to customize in both skills and physical appearance. We are the children of Lilith, the villain of the game, and, according to the prophecy, we are the only ones predetermined who will be able to defeat her. In the game we will fight alongside 13 superheroes to use, taken from Avengers, X-Men, Runaways and other popular Marvel series. Among the characters appearing in the Gamescom 2021 presentation we see Iron Man, Captain America, Captain Marvel, Doctor Strange, Blade, Nico Minoru, Magik and Robbie Reyes as Ghost Rider and Wolverine, all of which are playable.
Marvel’s Midnight Suns will be available for PS4, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, PS5 and Xbox Series X | S through A March 2022 It will be included in Xbox Game Pass since launch.
