“Elena put a smile on everything she did, even in the most difficult years, years of illness.” Elena Mangili flew to Heaven at the age of 43, after a long struggle with strength and dignity, and her husband DJ Roby Intrallazzi remembers her as such. Known for her work in the family’s delicacies and gastronomy in the upper city, her cruel fate was to lose her the day after the thirteenth anniversary of the death of her brother Alessandro, who also died of an incurable disease. In 2012, the Mangili family store moved from Gumbito Road to Colioni Road and Elena decided to devote herself full time to the historical activity run by her parents Angelo and Anna since 1971. The tourists and residents could not help but meet his always smiling gaze as he greeted clients at the cash counter.
The upper city community is mourned by the loss of a young woman who gave a great example, and only yesterday dozens of friends and acquaintances visited Elena, whose body was made up in Buccula Road, in the church of San Lorenzo in the Upper City. “We met 10 years ago and in 2014 she was diagnosed with the disease – says her husband Roberto -. Six years ago we got married, she wore a wig because of the treatments. I loved her so much and never left her alone. In 2012 she decided to help her parents run the store.I must say that she was the one who gave me the strength to keep going: In all these years we never quarreled, a smile from her was enough and everything was fine. He taught me not to be a grudge, he was really a special person and a selfless Self and generous. Thanks to his great dignity, he did not make anyone weigh his illness. During the treatment I proposed to the association “Amiche per Mano”, which accompanies patients who have had a tumor in the treatment process, to help women by putting hairdressers and beauticians at their disposal. ”In her idea, but she never wanted to appear. Her style was, really unique woman. I’ll miss him so much.”
Elena’s funeral will take place tomorrow at 2:30 pm in the Duomo.
