KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) is going to conduct a Seminar on ‘Promoting Agriculture Value Chain Financing’ in Pakistan on March 30, 2015 at Marriott Hotel, Karachi.
The seminar will be held in collaboration with Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations Organizations. The purpose of the seminar is to enhance the skills and knowledge of senior officials of commercial and microfinance banks by providing them technical training and global practices that leads to improving the agricultural and rural finance services across the Pakistan.
Leading successful banks and market experts, who are already contributing well in the development of agriculture sector, will share their ideas and experiences with the participants. The sole purpose of the seminar is to educate the commercial banks and microfinance banks to make innovation and expand agriculture sector.
From Pakistan: Mr. Ghalib Nishtar – President Khushhali Bank Limited; Mr. Kashif Thanvi – GM and Head of Rural Finance of HBL; and Mr. Favad Soomro – Market Development Advisor of Engro Foods will share their perspective and understanding ideas about agri-market, dynamics, opportunities, and challenges in financing to agriculture. Mr. Calvin Miller Team Leader, FAO Italy and Dr. Prasun Das, Consultant APRACA, and other speakers and experts from banking and development sector will share their thoughts and experience in the seminar.
Expert panel of SBP will hold the questions and answers session at the end of seminar.
