SBP: Foreign Workers’ Remittances rise 16.5% to $18.4 billion in FY15


ISLAMABD: According to External Relations Department of State Bank of the Pakistan, overseas Pakistani workers remitted $18.4 billion during FY15 (July to June), that is 16.5% than the $ 15.8 billion received during the FY14.


This is the highest figure Pakistani achieved during FY15. This figure is also 9.51% higher than figure of last month May 2015 that was $18.2 billion and 21.5% higher than June 2014.

The country wise detail is as: $536.68 million, $423.24 million, $258.94 million, $247.96 million, $209.66 million, and $ 34.27 million of inflow was from Saudi Arabia, UAE,USA, UK, GCC countries including (Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and Oman) respectively. Previous year figure of these countries were $ 471.88 million, $ 295.63 million, $ 222.34 million, $ 200.82 million, $ 168.62 million and $ 37.43 million respectively.


Collective inflow from Norway, Switzerland, japan, Australia, Canada and other countries during June 2015 was $110.53 million as compared to $102.58 million of June 2014.
