KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced the availability of fresh currency notes for general public from June 25, according to External Relations Department of SBP.
In a recent press release of SBP, fresh currency notes will be available at the field offices of SBP with-effect-from June 25 through the SBP’s counters till the last working day before Eid-ul-Fitr.
Moreover the fresh currency notes will be also available at commercial banks from July 2, 2015 at the 150 branches of commercial banks designated as “Select Branch” in major cities express centers for issuance of fresh notes under the supervision of the officials of the SBP.
Only one packet of each Rs. 10, Rs. 20, and Rs. 50 will be issued to each person by showing their original Computerized National Identify Card/Smart Card at bank’s counter. Each member of public will be entertained once.
However, fresh notes of Rs. 100 will be issued as per stock availability. SBP has also established a ‘Help Desk’ to resolve the public complaints at 021-3245547.
