“Cake leader” Buddy Valastro Out of the cast he’s on his impaled right hand, showing it off for the first time … while also talking about his tough road to recovery.

TMZ got this exclusive clip from a new TV special documenting Buddy’s horrific horrific accident. You can see the TLC reality star removing grout. The president’s bun hand was covered in stitches and staples, but the good news is that he’s starting to feel like he’s back.

As for the way he’s navigating the cake world these days, BV says he has had to teach himself how to be a geek – for nearly every assignment, really – but has ways to go until he’s back in top shape. He appears to be leaning to the left now, and that has its limitations.
