This morning, Robert Plant announced 7 concerts in Italy that will take place between the end of August and the beginning of September, in which he will present Saving Grace to the public with Susie Diane. On August 28 it will be exactly at the Sferisferio in Macerata, a date organized by Vincenzo Berti and Gianluca Bonanno for Ventidieci. The tour was produced and organized by D’Alessandro and Galli.
Saving Grace, the project that sees on stage Susie Diane (vocals), Ollie Jefferson (percussions), Tony Kelsey (mandolin, baritone and acoustic guitars), Robert Plant (vocals) and Matt Worley (banjo, acoustic and baritone guitars, quattro), debuted back in early 2019 with a series of surprise concerts at small venues across England, Wales and Ireland, and subsequently three UK dates in support of the Fairport Convention. Intimate performances have seen the band draw from a repertoire of “music inspired by the dream-scene of Welsh marches”, songs covering Plant’s diverse tastes and influences, in particular his lifelong passion for British and American folk, spirituals and traditional blues, including a number of beloved standards and longtime favourites. by Doc Watson, Donovan, Moby Grape, and Low, among others.
