Lower House Okays Resolution Against Blasphemous Content on Social Media

The National Assembly of Pakistan today has passed resolution against pages over social media platforms containing blasphemous content. The resolution was moved by PML (N) legislator and son in law of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Capital (r) Muhammad Safdar. On the other hand, Punjab Assembly has also passed the same resolution and condemned the blasphemous content on the social media platforms.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has also condemned what is going on over the social media platforms against Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) for the sake of freedom of speech and expression. He said, “The blasphemous content on social media platforms is a nefarious conspiracy to hurt the religious sentiments of entire Muslim Ummah.”

“The matter has already been taken by the judiciary. Love and affection of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) is the most precious asset for every Muslim”, he added.
