Cable services remain suspended in different parts of country

Cable Operators nationwide have suspended the cable services in different parts of the country for the indefinite time. The move from cable operators came in business as their protest regarding delay of auction of Direct-to-Home (DTH) service licences was refused.

Now it’s being more than 20 hours since cable services in various parts of the country, including Lahore, Karachi, Multan, Gujarat and Peshawar are not available.

It would be kept mentioned that already much delayed DTH services licenses auction was scheduled to happen on November 23 under PEMRA.

Over which, cable operators gave a call to shut down as they think that DTH auction in the country will ruin their business and will cause huge economic loss.

Cable operators also met Federal Minister Ishaq Dar but the meeting couldn’t be fruitful enough for the protesters.

On the other hand, experts says that the launch of DTH in the country would allow the subscribers to have more to high quality TV channels replete with digital characteristics like parental control, internet and video on demand, electronic program guide etc.
